September 5th, 2016 by Corey A. Edwards

plymouthNotchAntiqueAppleFestVisit the birthplace and boyhood home of Calvin Coolidge and sample rare, antique apple varieties at the Plymouth Notch Antique Apple Fest: October 1, 2016!

If you investigate the history of apples you’ll discover there used to be hundreds of varieties. Apples of wildly differing shapes and colors, stripes, spots, and unfamiliar names.

So, where did they all go?

Mostly, they died out in favor of uniformity for mass marketing. Despite this, many fine heirloom apple varieties still exist, including right here in Plymouth Notch!

Jingle Bells

November 29th, 2014 by Deer Brook Inn

Almost a foot of new snow on the ground!  Everyone is walking in a winter wonderland.  The fire is crackling in the evening waiting for your return from skiing, skating, snow shoeing, horsedrawn sleigh rides, maybe even a dogsled ride by moonlight.  You know what they say about moonlight in Vermont.  The weekends are beginning to fill up.  We still have one room left for Wassail Weekend on December 12 and 13.  What better way to kick off the holiday season.  If those pesky relatives are coming for the holidays bring them along and spend  Christmas with us and then go home to a clean house when the holiday is over!  Santa knows his DSCF0249DSCF0199DSCF0240way to Deer Brook Inn!  What are you waiting for?  Give us a call. Happy Holidays
