DSCF0240DSCF0249DSCF0199Well, actually they aren’t the only ones, so are the innkeepers!  The snow is flying. The fire is raging.  We still have openings for Wassail Weekend and Christmas week.  Wassail Weekend kicks off on Friday, December 13.  Don’t miss the Victorian sleigh parade Saturday and the historic house tour where all are decorated for the holidays.  A horse drawn sleigh picks you up at the door of first house and takes you from one house to the next.  Christmas carols on the Green and a bonfire to keep you cozy in the afternoon.

Or just take a break after the holiday is over.  Join us for the January and February doldrums.  Take a load off your mind and relax by our fireplace.  We are waiting for your call!  You won’t be disappointed!

Autumn’s Golden Days

October 12th, 2013 by Deer Brook Inn

With foliage season about to pass into late Autumn, there is still time to come to Vermont.  While there is still color in the trees late October is more relaxed,  more slow paced. Come on up and sight see all day and then come back and sit in front of the fire.   Doesn’t get much better than this.

Hard to believe the Christmas season is fast approaching.  Wassail Weekend (December 13-15) is a great way to get into the spirit and kick off the holiday.  Victorian sleighs, Christmas caroling on the Green, music venues all around town, historic holiday house tours in the village, we have it all.  Treat yourself to a pre holiday getaway.

The Summer

July 15th, 2013 by Deer Brook Inn

We have had the rain and the heat like everybody else on the east coast.  But our lakes and streams are spring fed and very refreshing.  Swim in them, canoe or kayak on them, picnic by them!  The summer offers you all kinds of activities.  Bookstock  on July 28 has reading panels led by current authors, vintage book sales, book art exhibits and food and music on the Village Green.  The Killington Music festival goes on through July on Killington Mountain.   Check out what is happening in the Woodstock area on www.woodstockvt.com.  Treat yourself, you deserve it!  One of our rooms is waiting for you.

Spring Into Vermont
