February is the month of hearts and presidents.  Two wonderful things to celebrate.  Time to treat yourself with some pampering.  Come on, what are you waiting for?  The fire is roaring, the coffee is delicious, and in Vermont time can almost stand still.  Midweek or weekend, there is much to do or nothing to do.  It is  up to you.  Give us a call.

Hey, there is still time to get away this weekend.  This is sleighride weekend at the Billings Farm.  Ride a jack jumper sled pulled by some pretty incredible horses around the beautiful farm. You don’t know what a jack  jumper sled is?  Only one way to find out!   Also happening this weekend is the Winter Carnival at VINS.  And of course, snow shoeing and cross country skiing trails are all groomed and ready for your new equipment.  Ice skate on our outdoor ponds or our incredible Union Arena right in Woodstock.  If snow mobiling is more your sport we can lead you to incredible trails where you can rent equipment and explore til the winter air wears you out, at which point return to the Deer Brook Inn and cuddle in front of  our fireplace with a good book.  Killington is down the road a piece!  Come on, what is keeping you?

The craziness of the holidays is over!  The decorations are just about stored for another year and you are finally getting ready to take a breath.  The new skis, snowshoes and ice skates are still in their boxes waiting for their initial breaking in.  So what’s stopping you?  Vermont is covered in snow, our local ponds are frozen over for those  ice skates, not to mention the beautiful indoor arena here in Woodstock.  Killington and Suicide Six are in full swing and the trails are in great shape.  The area is full of wonderfully groomed cross country ski and snowshoe trails.  Rent snowmobiles and go for a ride through the woods and valleys.   And if you were lucky enough to get a “snuggie”  for Christmas, it is great to snuggle up in with your significant other while crossing the Marsh Billings Rockefeller National  Park in a  horse drawn sleigh.

For those of you who received a best seller for Christmas, our fireplace is the perfect spot to cozy up to and read to your heart’s content.  Our 3 course country breakfasts will fortify you  for a day on the slopes, trails, or lakes.  What’s

The Fall is over and we took a well earned vacation.  But we are back now and here to tell you we still have openings for Wassail Weekend.  Woodstock goes all out December 11, 12, and 13 and the halls are all decked.  There is so much to do.  Watch the Victorian horse and sleigh parade then listen to the Vienna Boys Choir.  Don’t miss the Messiah or A Christmas Carol.  Visit the beautiful homes all decorated for Christmas.  You won’t be disappointed!

Deer Brook is all decked out too.  The fireplace is roaring and relaxes the harried soul.  Check our availability for Christmas week, too.  What better way to celebrate the holidays than to relax by the fire and let someone else take care of all the mess and bother.  We look forward to seeing you then!

It isn’t too late to reserve for the fall foliage season. We still have some days that are open during the next couple of months.  Check our availability to see if it fits into your plans for a fall getaway.  Nor is it too early to reserve for Wassail Weekend, the kickoff of the Christmas season.  There is always a Victorian sleigh parade,  many music venues, carolling on The Green, a bonfire and tours of some of the beautiful houses all decorated for Christmas.  Wassail Weekend is December 11, 12, and 13.
